BCL Legal is pleased to announce that it has upgraded its IT infrastructure after switching to the Cloud Computing system. The cutting edge technology allows employees – across the firm’s offices – to share resources, software and information over a network rather than a centralised location.
The system – which was installed by Xicon – delivers key applications via the Internet which are accessed from web browsers, desktop computers and mobile devices with key business software and data being stored on servers at a remote location. This type of system allows companies easier manageability and less maintenance as well as enabling them to quickly adjust their IT provisions to meet changing business demands.
James Batt – director of BCL Legal – commented; ‘Moving over to Cloud Computing was a big and quite expensive step for the firm but it’s an investment that we’re sure will pay dividends over the coming years. Especially as it gives us more flexibility and will reduce long-term overheads as expensive maintenance of servers is now a thing of the past. Several high profile law firms – including JMW and Field Fisher Waterhouse - have also adopted the technology so I predict its influence and popularity will only get stronger.’
